My Story

My passion for helping people really began at a young age, I remember my mom giving me a pin with a nursing hat and cross on it because I always took care of her when she was sick. Bringing her water and food and medicine, making sure she was cared for. Wearing that pin always made me feel important, not just to her, but to the world. I had purpose.

Fast forward to middle school, this was a hard time for me, I developed an eating disorder and what the doctors called manic depression, bipolar disorder. The tool it took on my body lead me to develop GERD at 15, gastroesophageal reflux disease, that caused me extreme stomach pain and constant heart burn. Stress only made it worse. At 16, I was hospitalized for depression and attempted suicide. While there, I met other children with major traumas like rape, abandonment, homelessness, sexual abuse, neglect, teenage pregnancy and mental and emotional pains, distress and confusion. Being an easy to talk to compassionate person, lead these children to confide in me, lean on me and listen to me when I showed them support and empathy. Those were traits none of us were seeing much from the staff at the hospital, they treated us like we were unruly teenagers who instead of being traumatized, we were broken and needed fixed. It was there that I realized I NEEDED to get better, I just had to. I had to get myself in a healthy mindset so that I could grow up, finish school and help these kids and others like them in a way I felt would really truly help and heal. After High School I went to college and began to study psychology. However I was dealing with a lot from what I had experienced in High School and in my senior year. I was just getting out of a mentally and physically abusive relationship, and whatever time was not spent in class or at one of my 2 jobs was spent drinking and partying with my new boyfriend and friends. I was headed down a destructive path.

Then at the age of 19, I found out I was pregnant with my boyfriend at the time who was 21 and still a kid himself. He had lots of childhood trauma and a drinking problem. We were together during the pregnancy but after I gave birth to my son his father left. My sons father, was in and out of his life until he was 3, when he disappeared for good. This left me a single mom at a very young age. I didn’t let it stop me though, I worked an $8 an hour job and went to night school for massage therapy. I felt Massage was a way I could help people to feel better and to find holistic alternative ways to help them mentally and physically. The classes I had taken in college for psychology were valuable and interesting but I also learned it would take years of school and lots of time and money to become just a counselor and as a counselor I would still be so limited as to how and in what ways I could help people. I discovered through Holistic alternative healing, energy work, meditation and various other modalities I could really make a difference that felt more in alignment with me and with my busy single mom life.

I went to school for Massage Therapy, then once completed, tested to become licensed and then kept on taking classes and certification courses in so many areas of the Massage field and from there found energy work. So I started diving into Reiki and chakras and all forms of energy healing, which lead me to attending peace summits with Native Americans and other cultures learning their forms of healing and teachings and ways of ceremony. So this is where I am today, still always taking classes, always learning and keeping an open mind to all forms of healing. I still suffer from bipolar depression and intestinal issues but they have lessoned and become manageable through life style changes, self-care and my on going spiritual journey. Some days are a struggle but most days I am joyful and full of life and I owe that to all the lessons and holistic healing approaches I have dove into. My passion is helping people and easing their physical and emotional suffering in any way I can by being nurturing, compassionate and knowledgeable in many forms of healing.
